Web shizz...

My client has already bought the domain name www.maedate.co.uk for her label, but not hosting or an email address. I have advised her to get an email address and she thinks it would be worthwhile. I need to speak to the guys in the bubble if she can buy email and hosting and transfer the domain name to another server site as the ones available from her host are very expensive!

I was advised by Jimmy at UHC to use wordpress for smaller clients as it is easy to use and upload content themselves. I need to find out how I actually get the site up and running from some tech-savvy friends!

Confitte Billeteras

Nice idea to let the garmet show though... depending on what needs to be packaged and if Sally wants them packaged in this way, This might be a nice way to show the macramé.

Bellroy

Organic feel and real crafted texture to the packaging. Seems to have more worth to the consumer and speak of wealth, even though created from cardboard.

Lauren Elise Cassar

Demonstrating how individual garments could be packaged... Beautifully simple.

Burn Card T-shirts

Obviously not aesthetically for mædate inspiration but a really interesting use of format and packaging to communicate the concept even further. I wonder if there is a way I could communicate the japanese armour concept behind Sallys work aswell as the macramé.

Brockton Originals

An example of a look-book type publication which still feels uniquely hand crafted in some areas.

Anthropologie

Definately more the feel of what I think mædate stationery should feel like. Beautiful range, while still appearing bespoke and individual and crafted, but professional at the same time. Again, the different stocks don't make the look disjointed, but actually make the brand stronger.

Immerse

Beautiful envelope with logo applied. This is a winner!.. never thought I would be so excited about a bloomin envelope. What have I become?

Fuse Design

Really simple and again as like DDI, good use of printed ink alongside embossed logo. Definately an area I need to consider in more depth. Simple layout which I want to employ. I think when there is an interesting print process, simplicity of other things make it stand out for what it is.

DDI

Great demonstration of embossing with printed ink. It does work well together. I need to look carefully and what colour will work on the range of stock and alongside the logo.

Joana Casaca Lemos

This is more the style of business cards I think the mædate range will look like like, but I am hoping to make them more professional and have a less hand made feel to them so that it gives the brand a more professional and serious outlook into the real world and against competitors.

ALA Architects

Professional finish, simple design... this is how I want the mædate stationery to communicate, not neccessarily in terms of aesthetic, but in layout and professionalism.

Bedroc

Similar to Cwmni Da, showing how different stock can be used across the range while still being seen as one. If everything was on the same stck and same colour, it will probably look unprofessional. Never thought about using 2 different coloured stocks before, or possibly even three, but with the sheer amount of deliverables and uses for each, this may be an opportunity.

Brandhaus

Very professional and serious feel to this range, but the colour on the reverse is a nice addition that could work well for this brief. Also the professional side is something that will need to be communicated, but maybe not so seriously. Loooove the envelope... One aspect of stationery design I had not considered which will be essential to the range.

Production Notes
-  350g Condat Matt Périgord stock
- Offset printing
- Matte coating (front only)

Cwmni Da

Just goes to show, do not have to use laser cut throughout a brief for the logo on everything...

Production Notes
- GF Smith Colourplan stock
- Duplexed
- White foil stamp
- Die cut

Merchant Archive

Lovely layout which I may adopt as will work well for mædate.

Production Notes- Black foil with copper foil edging on 1000 mic greyboard
- Clear foil on matt black perm adhesive stickers
- Copper foil on gloss clear perm adhesive stickers

Bag format inspiration

The suede ribbons should be used as the handles for the bags, and my client is keen on having a simple bag design, as with the rest of the brand, with a possible pattern on the side.

Tag format inspiration

Looking at different tags and how the fold out, are connected to products and size... I like the booklet ones as my client want to have information on the making of the garments on her tags and also ones with an interesting connective method.
